RCGS offers a searchable collection of over 1 million genealogy records from seven Kansas counties: Riley, Wabaunsee, Pottawatomie, Clay, Washington, Geary, and Marshall. The sources are listed below.
If you used the Surname Search on our previous website, you’ll notice some changes:
- Our new Records Search includes records from both the old Surname Search and the previous Cemetery Records.
- The results from the Sy Ekart books - primarily indexed newspaper births, marriages, and deaths - are now explicitly displayed as a paragraph within a page range in the book.
- Many of the book images required you to be both a member and to enter a password for the file. We've removed the file password.
We offer both Record Pulls from this collection and Research Services. Please wander over to our Research Help page for further information.
Please note that the process of moving over 1 million records to our new website takes time. We have over 500,000 records loaded as of the end of October, 2026 and are adding more records every day. We hope complete loading the remaining records by the end of 2026.
